While doing research on Spanish designers, I came across

Manuel Mota.....

He designs bridal gowns for Pronovias....apparently THE place for a bride looking for an exquisite dress....

The Spanish influence really comes through in his designs....

The use of an empire waist and lots of tiers create a lovely silhouette..

Makes any gal want to take that walk down the aisle.....very slowly...

If there is anything I adore as much as fashion....it is art.   Especially contemporary art.

As a designer, I am drawn to artists  who use the female form in their work...

time to think about......Spring fashion!!

The past few weeks have been a dizzying display of all things Spring.....color, ultra light fabrics, and lots of leg....

New york fashion is like no other....and fashion week had some very solid shows...

some of my favorite collections had that perfect mix of girly and edgy.....

When we are little girls, we love to play dress-up.......

We try on lipstick for the first time.....

have tea parties  wearing hats and strings of pearls.....

We slip on heels and do our best to make our way around the room.....

As women, we still want to wear beautiful things......

I am daydreaming about spending the afternoon playing dress-up in these lovely Marchesa dresses.......

   

Completed my first Illustrator class this past spring....loved it.  I wasn't so sure about it at first...

I am an old school artist.....colored pencils, markers, paint....these are my mediums of choice.

Just when you think everything has been done in fashion, John Galliano steps up, and un-does fashion. For his fall '09 collection for Dior, Galliano sent out models who seemed to be only half- dressed. Lovely ladies with corkscrew curls bared all in lovely corsets paired with voluminous skirts..... jackets paired with girly tap pants and garters..... The use of black, beige, and pops of color combined with nude tones made the collection effortlessly sophisticated......

Galliano's vision was to highlight  some of Christian Dior's most memorable pieces....

What better way to spotlight a lovely  bar jacket than to simply pair it  with pretty undies??

One of my favorite designers....Karl Lagerfeld,  showcased a lovely display of cruise wear this past week in Venice for Chanel.  The setting....the beach . The models...smokey eyes and perfectly coiffed curls. Soft, feminine dresses were paired with quirky unlaced boots.....fabulous.
